Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege

Why is it when you have an opinion on something but something happens to change your opinion and you see things differently and form a new opinion some people want to  accuse you of being a hypocrite...
Changing your mind or even your beliefs is  not always hypocrisy...it can mean that you simply saw something in a different light.
I had a friend who recently called me a hypocrite because I have a different opinion on a certain subject than I use to have ...but instead of asking me why I see things differently this person said that is very hypocritical of me ,
The way I see it tho if I see that I was wrong and I change how I feel about something then I have bettered myself in some way...so if that is being a hypocrite then I guess I am guilty of that charge.
