Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege

I was reading  a  post written by sifa   the other day which  inspired me to  write  this.

I  have always been the type  to do my own thing .
I never went with the crowd.
I  have never been one to    do what other people think is cool.
I think that has to do a lot with my mother she always told  me to be myself and never  compromise  who I am just to please other people.

 
And I see a lot of kids these days who are afraid to be themselves .
They are afraid they will be called weird or strange.
And that makes me sad ...it really does.
Because I think as adults we should teach kids to be themselves.
We  need to tell them it is ok not to go with the flow.
They need to know that  being their own individual self is a good thing not a bad thing .

There is way to many so called normal people out there.
It is time for our  young people to realize that  what they think is cool  is what they need to be .
So what if someone else thinks you are weird .
Weird is good in my opinion .

And if you are a young person who may be reading this .
It is ok to be yourself .
I know sometimes its hard not to do what the in crowd does.
You want people to like you .
However if you  are not being yourself ....then the most important person of all will not like who  you are .
And that  will be yourself.
So I say embrace you weirdness .
And don't be ashamed of it .
Because that is who you are ....and that is the best  thing to be.
